Craigslist is an online company founded by Craig Newmark initially seeking to assist organizations in fact-checking, consumer protection, and technology for the public good. It has since evolved into a multi-dimensional website with features like marketplace, career and community postings.
PROBLEM
There’s a lot to do on the website now with a cluttered one-stop-shop feel and currently diminishes the user experience with minimalist design and multiple links
SOLUTION
Easier to navigate, user friendly and faster interaction
MY ROLE
Visual Design, UX/UI Design
COMPETITORS/MARKET RESEARCH
Letgo, Offerup, Mercari
STRATEGIES
I researched the above competitors and a couple others to determine what design elements were relevant for sites like these. I then used what Craigslist already has on its platform and designed it to be easier on the eyes and have better navigation initially. Upon further research, I noticed other types of sites were using a simple search bar feature with not many categorical boxes like I had in my first design.
TOOLS USED
Adobe Photoshop (wireframing and design), Adobe Illustrator (icon and text elements)
